Marc Meylan

My name is Marc and I have lived in England for the past 7 years after moving here from Switzerland. There, I had the pleasure of working for over 15 years in the elderly care sector, where after organizing the social life, cultural and recreational activities of residents, I eventually trained as a masseur to help those with serious cognitive and physical problems.

I have been practising Swedish Massage since 2015. The benefits of this technique are physical, emotional and psychological. I treat patients of all ages from students up to those in their 90s, varying the technique so that it is tailored according to different ages and body types.

My approach to personal wellbeing is rooted in exploring treatments and tools that help release discomfort—whether emotional, mental, or physical. I aim to guide each individual in finding and maintaining a harmonious balance that truly lasts, using tailored treatments and practices.

My journey into wellness began 25 years ago when I was struggling with physical issues that couldn’t be diagnosed. A specialist encouraged me to listen deeply to my body and explore its messages. This led me to embrace a holistic approach to self-care and self-love on multiple levels. I began practicing yoga and pilates, learning reiki, and receiving massages, which paved the way for my healing.

A turning point came when I experienced an Aura-Soma session. Through selecting colours, I gained deep insights into myself. This became a daily ritual, and together with movement and healing practices, my symptoms improved.

Motivated to deepen my knowledge, I studied at the Aura-Soma Academy in Tetford, becoming a practitioner. Exploring how colours resonate with our physical, emotional, and mental needs remains a fascinating journey.

In addition, I completed Level 5 in Ayurvedic Yoga Massage just before the pandemic. Both giving and receiving massages have been transformative—not only for physical health but also for mental wellbeing.

Today, I offer a range of treatments designed to nurture and balance the mind, body, and soul. I look forward to supporting you on your path to wellness.

I have over 35 years of experience as an Integrative Holistic Practitioner in musculoskeletal acute and chronic pain, who recognise the complexity and unique difficulties faced by each person who lives with pain. The primary goal of my intervention and management programme is to improve the patient's quality of life through holistic and individualised care by eliminating the root causes of pain. I provide exceptional individualised care, tailored to each patient's unique needs. I employ a variety of hands-on techniques to treat injuries and acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Some of these techniques include deep soft tissue manipulation, muscle energy techniques, joints and spine manipulation, eletrotherapy, light therapy, mesotherapy injections, etc

As a holistic practitioner, it is to empower patients through strategies such as pain education, assisted stretching, and physical reabilitation to enable patients to take control of their health and well-being.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapist

Being able to offer AYM treatments has been life changing for me, as I have been actively looking for the best way to help people feel well in their bodies and minds for many years. AYM feels completely different to all other therapeutic bodywork: it is a deep tissue massage that incorporates assisted yoga stretches and calming breathwork- to encourage the nervous system to relax. It is done on a futon on the floor, which means the therapist can use different parts of their body and their body weight to get the most out of each movement and to get the maximum benefit for the client. There are a huge range of techniques and approaches that can be taken, allowing me to truly tailor any treatment to the client and their needs, from deep pressure to gentle soothing touch, from remedial work to the depths of relaxation, to energising treatments. Each massage is nurturing and always centred around the individual. The assisted stretches, tractions and mobilisation techniques (if appropriate for the client) take the treatments to a whole other level.

My background is as a carer and support worker. For 15 years I worked with the eldery, people with Autism and with adults and children with a variety of learning, physical and emotional difficulties, including Parkinson’s, Cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, MS, Spina bifida and acquired brain injury. I loved my job, and I learned so much about communication, empathy and empowering others, having had the honour of supporting incredibly beautiful people and their families. A few years ago, I began to feel I wanted to help others in a different way: to be able to support people with their physical health, comfort and range of movement, to help them to feel more connected to and at ease in their bodies, and to help people to experience a state of deep relaxation which can bring about a sense of balance, peace and wellbeing. This desire led me to massage.

I studied AYM for 2.5 years with Ayurvedic Yoga Massage UK, where I attended 3-4 trainings a year and became and teaching assistant. I also trained in Pregnancy Massage under AYM UK. In 2024 I began training with the Modak Institute to study the Kusum Modak Method- Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapy. I attended courses in both London and India- where I studied under the watchful gaze of the founder of AYM Master Kusum Modak.

I have also studied with the NHS Natural Health School, graduating with distinctions in both Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology. This included the study of anatomy and physiology.
